Damico eliminated from qualifying draw at ITA All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES -- Texas junior Krista Damico suffered a straight-set defeat in her qualifying-round match Wednesday evening on day five of the ITA All-American Championships. Damico fell victim to Florida's Sofie Oyen by a 6-1, 6-2 count. Damico had defeated Nevada's Emma Vreberne in straight sets on Tuesday and needed two more wins to advance to the main singles draw competition, which begins Thursday. Texas sophomore Aeriel Ellis begins play in the main singles draw on Thursday and will take on Notre Dame's Kristy Frilling in her opening match. ITA All-American Championships
