PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- University of Texas senior Kendra Strohm dropped her opening-round qualifying match Tuesday in round-of-64 play at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.

Strohm suffered a 6-2, 6-4 setback at the hands of California's Stephanie Kusano. After moving to the consolation bracket, Strohm rebounded with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Harvard's Elsa O'Riain. Strohm will meet Tennessee's Vicky Jones in round-of-16 consolation play on Wednesday.
