BERKELEY, Calif. -- Juniors Kelly Baritot (Allison Park, Pa.), Mia Marovic (Split, Croatia) and Kendra Strohm (Tucson, Ariz.) completed the second day of the Cal Nike Invitational at Hellman Tennis Center on Saturday, Oct. 2.

In the quarterfinals of the main draw, Wendy Pilecka of Arizona State defeated Baritot, 6-4, 6-4. The loss moved Baritot into the Consolation Round Robin bracket where she posted a, 6-2, 6-2, victory over Monica Wiesner of Cal. Marovic, however, won her quarterfinal match against Cristina Visico of Cal, 6-4, 7-5, before falling to Suzi Babos of Cal in three sets, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Strohm, playing in the Consolation II bracket after a second-round loss on Friday, advanced past the quarterfinals on a walkover, then posted a, 6-4, 7-5, victory over Sabrina Capannolo of Arizona State in the consolation semifinals.

On the doubles side, Baritot teamed with Vana Tomas of Arizona State and recorded a first-round victory on Friday, but the duo fell in the quarterfinals to Cal's Sasha Podkolzina and Suzi Babos, 8-5. The Texas duo of Strohm and Marovic did not play their quarterfinal doubles match due to injury.

The Texas women will wrap up play at the Cal Nike Invitational on Sunday.
