Women's Tennis completes second day of Baylor Invitational
WACO, Texas -- The University of Texas women's tennis team struggled on the second day of competition at the Baylor Intercollegiate Fall Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Ristine Olson (Missoula, Mont.) and freshman Courtney Zauft (San Antonio, Texas) were eliminated in the Round of 16, while sophomore Petra Dizdar (Split, Croatia) bowed out in the quarterfinals. In her first match of the day, Dizdar defeated Zuzana Cerna of Baylor in three sets, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, but was unable to advance to Sunday's semifinals after losing to Helena Besovic of TCU, 6-2, 6-2. Olson lost in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, to Klara Zrustova of Baylor, while Zauft was defeated in three, 6-7, 6-1, 6-1, both in the Round of 16. In doubles, the duo of Olson and Zauft posted an 8-6 quarterfinal victory over Carolin Walter and Daniela Covello of Baylor, but came up short in the semifinals losing to Georgia Tech's Kacie Anson and Dasha Potapova, 8-5. The Texas women's tennis team will return to action on Friday, Oct. 1 when they travel to Berkeley, Calif., to compete in the Berkeley Invitational.
