Corovic scores doubles victory at World University Games
BANGKOK, Thailand -- Representing her native Serbia, University of Texas sophomore Vanja Corovic teamed up with Duke senior Daniela Bercek for a straight-set doubles win Thursday to open the 2007 World University Games. Corovic (Belgrade, Serbia) and Bercek wasted little time defeating Pakistan's Sara Mansoor and Zahra Omar Kahn, winning 6-0, 6-0 in 30 minutes. The Serbian duo will meet Chinese Taipei's top-seeded tandem of Chin-Wei Chan and Chia-jung Chuang in the round of 16 on Friday.
