Corovic to compete at World University Games

AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas sophomore Vanja Corovic has been selected to represent her native Serbia at the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand. The World University Games run from Aug. 8-18, and the tennis competition will be held from Aug. 9-16.

Corovic (Belgrade, Serbia), the 2007 Big 12 Conference Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, completed her initial season at Texas with a 25-12 overall singles record, including a 10-1 mark in Big 12 Conference play. Corovic finished with a No. 28 singles ranking from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association after earning All-Big 12 singles and doubles honors.

Caroline Larsson to join Texas Women's Tennis
University of Texas head women's tennis coach Patty Fendick-McCain has announced that Caroline Larsson has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to join the Longhorns' program and will be immediately eligible for competition.

"We're very excited to have Caroline join our program," Fendick-McCain said. "Caroline is a fantastic athlete who has a big game, and we're happy she will be a part of our team at Texas."

Larsson, a native of Sweden, has been ranked as high as No. 851 in doubles play in the WTA (Women's Tennis Association) world rankings. Larsson brings an impressive international tennis resume to Austin, having played challenger events in Sweden, Greece and Israel within the past year.
