ESPNEWS to air NCAA Tennis selection show
AUSTIN, Texas -- ESPNEWS will unveil the NCAA men’s and women’s tennis 64-team tournament fields in a live telecast set for Wednesday, May 3 beginning at 7:30 p.m. CDT. The men’s bracket will be released first, with the announcement of the women’s bracket to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m. CDT.
ESPNEWS is available on Time Warner Cable’s digital-cable service in Austin at channel 405. The network also is available on DirecTV channel 207 and DishNetwork channel 142. Additionally, fans may tune in to the audio feed on the ESPNEWS channel available on the XM and SIRIUS satellite-radio services.
Fans are invited to watch the tournament selections with the Texas men’s and women’s tennis teams in the team room at UT’s Penick-Allison Tennis Center, which is likely to be selected as a NCAA regional championship host site.
The NCAA tennis regional championships will be held May 12-14 (Friday-Sunday). The regional champions will advance to the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships later this month at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. The women’s championships are set for May 18-22 (Thursday-Monday), while the men’s championships are slated for May 20-23 (Saturday-Tuesday).
The NCAA will release the qualifiers for the 64-player NCAA singles championships and 32-team NCAA doubles championships on Thursday, May 4 at NCAASports.com. The entries will be posted no later than 5 p.m. CDT. The tournament draws will be unveiled at the conclusion of the NCAA team championships.
