Three from Women's Tennis earn All-Big 12 honors
IRVING, Texas -- Texas sophomore Vanja Corovic and senior Courtney Zauft earned All-Big 12 singles honors, and junior Marija Milic joined Corovic on the All-Big 12 doubles team, the league announced Monday, April 28.
Corovic, the 2007 Big 12 Conference Freshman and Newcomer of the Year, earned her second consecutive All-Big 12 singles selection after totaling an 8-1 mark at No. 1 singles in league play. Ranked 63rd in the latest ITA singles rankings, Corovic (Belgrade, Serbia) holds a 23-12 overall singles record and a 17-7 mark in dual-match play.
Zauft earns her first career All-Big 12 singles selection after registering a 9-2 mark in Big 12 play at No. 2 singles. Zauft played an instrumental role in UT's 4-3 victory over Texas A&M in the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship, as she defeated Christi Liles in straight sets. Zauft owns a 21-14 overall singles record and a 14-8 dual-match record.
Corovic and Milic earned All-Big 12 doubles honors for a second consecutive year. The duo tallied a 7-4 mark in league action at first doubles and hold a 23-11 overall doubles record.
