Time changed for Texas-Oklahoma State Women's Tennis match

WACO, Texas -- The start time for the University of Texas women's tennis team's quarterfinal match at the Big 12 Championships has been moved up to 8:30 a.m. CDT Friday due to the possibility of severe weather arriving in the Waco vicinity later in the afternoon.

The match had been scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CDT. Instead, UT fans will have a unique opportunity to watch the UT men's and women's tennis teams compete simultaneously, side-by-side. The UT women will occupy courts one, three and five at the Baylor Tennis Center beginning at 8:30 a.m. CDT against sixth-seeded Oklahoma State, while the UT men will play on courts two, four and six in their match, also beginning at 8:30 a.m. CDT, against seventh-seeded Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma State women scored a 4-0 victory in opening-round action over 11th-seeded Missouri. Texas defeated the Cowgirls by a 6-1 count earlier this season in Austin. The winner of that match will face the winner of Friday's match between second-seeded Texas A&M and seventh-seeded Kansas State on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Texas defeated Kansas State, Colorado and Baylor at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center on its way to the 2005 conference tournament championship. The Longhorns went on to NCAA Championship match where they fell to top-ranked Stanford.
