Women's Tennis lands three on Academic All-Big 12 Team

IRVING, Texas – Headed by a pair of first-team selections, the Texas women’s tennis team landed three student-athletes on the 2009 Academic All-Big 12 Conference Team, the league announced Friday. UT junior Sarah Lancaster earned her second consecutive first-team selection, while sophomore Caroline Larsson earned a first-team selection in her initial season of eligibility for the award. Sophomore Maggie Mello was named to the second team. Nominated by each institution’s director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices, 30 Big 12 student-athletes were named to the first team, while six student-athletes earned second-team recognition. All nominees, except for seniors, must have participated in 60 percent of her team’s scheduled matches.
