Scouting Texas Tech: The Lady Raiders are 5-8 on the season and ranked 75th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll. In conference play, Texas Tech is 2-2 with its two losses coming against Nebraska and Kansas State.
Series vs. Texas Tech: This will be the 33rd meeting between Texas and Texas Tech. UT holds a 32-0 advantage in the all-time series which dates back to a 9-0 Texas win on April 16, 1981, in Austin. The last meeting between the two teams was April 24, 2004, when the Longhorns blanked the Lady Raiders, 7-0, in Austin.
Last Time on the Courts: The Texas women posted identical 5-2 scores in their conference doubleheader against Oklahoma and Colorado on Saturday, March 26. Against Oklahoma, the Longhorns swept doubles and collected four consecutive straight-set victories in singles. Kelly Baritot clinched the win for the Horns to remain undefeated in conference play. In the second match of the day - against Colorado - UT won the doubles point and, again, put together four consecutive straight-set victories in singles. Katie Ruckert recorded the winning point for Texas, improving the team's record to 6-0 in Big 12 action.
ITA Rankings: Texas climbed one spot to No. 8 in the most recent ITA national team rankings, released on March 29. On an individual note, three Longhorns are ranked in the national poll: sophomore Petra Dizdar is 95th and the team of juniors Katie Ruckert and Kendra Strohm are ranked 18th in doubles. The next set of team and individual rankings will be announced April 5.
