Women's Tennis preview: Sacramento State
WHAT: No. 17 Texas (7-3, 2-0) heads out of conference when it hosts No. 42 Sacramento State WHERE: Penick-Allison Tennis Center - Austin, Texas WHEN: Saturday, March 22 - Noon Central ITA RANKINGS UPDATE: Texas ranks 17th in the March 18 release of the ITA team rankings while USC ranks 10th in the nation. Sophomore Vanja Corovic entered the ITA singles rankings this week at No. 125. THE 2008 LONGHORNS: Texas returns six letterwinners from the 2007 squad that totaled an 18-12 record, reached the NCAA round of 32 and claimed a share of the Big 12 Conference regular season championship. UT is led by sophomore Vanja Corovic, the 2007 Big 12 Conference Freshman and Newcomer of the Year, who earned a berth in the 64-player singles draw at the 2007 NCAA Championship. Texas also returns All-Big 12 singles standout Stephanie Davison and junior Marija Milic, who earned All-Big 12 doubles honors alongside Corovic last season. Texas moved up to No. 17 in this week's ITA rankings on the strength of conference wins at Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.
