Women's Tennis preview: William & Mary, Tennessee and Vanderbilt
AUSTIN, Texas -- After enjoying a week off, No. 10 Texas hits the road this week for a three-match road swing. The Longhorns will face No. 20 William and Mary on Monday, March 13 at 2 p.m. CST; No. 31 Tennessee on Wednesday, March 15 at 4 p.m. CST and No. 12 Vanderbilt on Friday, March 17 at 2:30 p.m. CST. The Longhorns (7-5) return to the courts after defeating Purdue by a 5-2 margin in their most recent match on Sunday, March 5 in Austin. Texas features 57th-ranked junior Petra Dizdar (Split, Croatia), 71st-ranked senior Mia Marovic and 125th-ranked sophomore Courtney Zauft (San Antonio, Texas). Texas last faced William & Mary on April 16, 2005 at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center, when UT claimed a 7-0 victory. The Tribe (9-4) enters the match after dropping a 6-1 decision at Stanford on March 9. William & Mary features 30th-ranked Megan Moulton-Levy and 103rd-ranked Katarina Zoricic. Texas took on Tennessee and Vanderbilt on back-to-back dates last season. Texas dealt Tennessee a 5-2 defeat on March 23, 2005 in Austin. The Lady Vols (6-7) scored a 4-3 victory over South Carolina on Sunday in their most recent match. The 12th-ranked Commodores of Vanderbilt pose a formidable lineup with 23rd-ranked junior Amanda Fish, 40th-ranked sophomore Taka Bertrand and 123rd-ranked sophomore Caroline Ferrell. Vanderbilt (12-2) is fresh off of a weekend road sweep of LSU and Arkansas. Texas edged Vanderbilt by a 4-3 count last season in Austin.
