Women's Tennis preview: Purdue
AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 11 Texas (6-5) looks to dent the win column once again Sunday when the Longhorns take on No. 30 Purdue at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center. First serve is set for noon CST. Admission is free for all UT regular season home matches. Texas enters Sunday's match coming off of a tough 4-3 loss to Miami (Fla.) last Sunday at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center. After dropping the doubles point, Texas took three singles matches but was edged in the end when Miami narrowly won the last match at fifth singles. Purdue comes to Austin with a five-match winning streak after opening the season with losses at Wake Forest and Tennessee. Purdue counts one victory over a top-30 opponent, a 5-2 win over No. 28 Kentucky on Feb. 19. The Boilermakers feature 100th-ranked Hala Sufi, who teams with Mallory Voelker for a No. 37 national doubles ranking. Texas features three student-athletes in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles rankings in 51st-ranked junior Petra Dizdar (Split, Croatia), 54th-ranked Kendra Strohm (Tuscson, Ariz.) and 95th-ranked Courtney Zauft (San Antonio, Texas).
