AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 3 Texas fought to the end, but No. 15 Miami captured the 4-3 win on Sunday, Feb. 26 at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.

Miami took the early lead after winning all three doubles matches, giving them the doubles point, but Texas quickly regrouped for singles.

Senior Mia Marovic (Split, Croatia) came out strong to even the score at 1-1, with a 6-0, 6-4 win in the No. 2 position against Miami's Melissa Applebaum, while Courtney Zauft (San Antonio, Texas) added another point for Texas against Miami's Audrey Banada with an impressive 6-3, 6-3 margin.. However, Miami didn't leave those points unanswered, and rebounded with victories in the first and third positions to take the 3-2 lead.

The intensity rose as Ristine Olson (Missoula, MT) held off Miami's Ana Rupic in the No. 6 spot to tie the score at 3-3 with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win. Kelly Baritot fought to the end, winning her first set at 6-3, but dropping the next two at 7-6, 6-4, giving Miami the overall victory of 4-3.

Texas is now 5-5 for the season, and is set to host No. 32 Purdue on Sunday, March 5. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. CST at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
