AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 3 Texas opened the match against Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 25 with a strong start before inclement weather interfered, leading Iowa State to default the match and giving Texas a 7-0 win.
Texas jumped ahead in singles play, but the match was abruptly ended by the storms that continue to plague the Central Texas area.
Because Iowa State decided to default the match, the six singles points and one doubles point were automatically given to Texas, handing the No. 3 women's tennis team a 7-0 victory, and a 6-4 overall record.
Texas is still on schedule for Sunday, Feb. 26 when it hosts No. 15 Miami. First serve is set for 1 p.m. CST at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center, and admission is free for all Texas regular season home matches .
