No. 21 Women's Tennis drops Nebraska, 7-0
AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 21 Texas utilized a dominant doubles and singles performance to overpower No. 66 Nebraska (6-2), winning by a 7-0 margin Saturday afternoon at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center. The Longhorns (5-2, 3-0) opened the match with a solid doubles effort. Seniors Petra Dizdar (Split, Croatia) and Ristine Olson (Missoula, Mont.) opened at first singles with an 8-2 victory over Imke Reimers and Diana Kuhl. Freshman Sarah Lancaster (San Antonio, Texas) and junior Courtney Zauft (San Antonio, Texas) dealt the Cornhuskers' Maria Ring and Wiveca Swarting an 8-4 loss at the second position, and freshman Vanja Corovic (Belgrade, Serbia) and sophomore Marija Milic (Etobicoke, Ontario) tallied an 8-0 win at the third position over Marianne Cicmanec and Ashley Finnegan. Texas continued its dominance in the singles session, winning in straight sets at each position. Corovic finished off Reimers at the first slot, winning by a 7-5, 6-2 count. Zauft made short work of Kuhl, winning by a 6-1, 6-1 count at the second position. Dizdar followed suit at third singles, defeating Swarting by a 6-2, 6-1 count, and Lancaster claimed an easy victory at fourth singles, winning by a 6-0, 6-1 margin at the fourth slot over NU's Ring. Davison posted a 6-2, 6-0 win over Cicmanec at fifth singles, and Milic easily dispatched NU's Finnegan, 6-0, 6-1 at sixth singles.
