No. 3 Women's Tennis falls to No. 2 Florida, 7-0
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- No. 2 Florida utilized strong doubles and singles efforts to blank No. 3 Texas, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at UF's Ring Tennis Complex. Texas drops to 5-4, while Florida improves to 6-0. Florida seized control of the match early on after winning all three doubles matches. The Gators' Alexis Gordon gave Florida a 2-0 lead by defeating Texas' Mia Marovic (Split, Croatia) at second singles, 6-1, 6-1. Nina Suvak added to the Florida tally with a 7-5, 6-0 win over UT's Kelly Baritot (Allison Park, Pa.) at fifth singles. Lolita Frangulyan clinched the Gator victory at the sixth position after posting a 6-3, 6-4 win over Ristine Olson (Missoula, Mont.). Diana Srebrovic, Whitney Benik and and Boglarka Berecz added straight-set victories to seal the Longhorns' 7-0 loss. Texas returns to the courts next Saturday, Feb. 25 when it hosts Iowa State. First serve is set for 1 p.m. CST at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center. Admission is free for all Texas regular season home matches. No. 2 Florida 7, No. 3 Texas 0 Singles
