Padegimaite, Scott eliminated from ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Texas sophomores Noel Scott and Lina Padegimaite (LEE-na pah-day-gee-MY-tay) were unable to stave off elimination from the qualifying doubles draw Tuesday on day four of the ITA All-American Championships.
Scott and Padegimaite suffered an 8-4 defeat to Georgia’s Kate Fuller and Lauren Herring in the opening round of the qualifying doubles draw. The Texas pair needed three wins in the qualifying draw to reach the main doubles draw. Scott and Padegimaite will play as many as two consolation matches on Wednesday.
The ITA All-American Championships mark the first of three national championship events on the college tennis calendar. Two-time All-America senior Aeriel Ellis begins play in the event’s main singles draw on Thursday.
