PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- Texas junior Vanja Corovic and senior Marija Milic scored a round-of-16 doubles victory but fell one win shy of the main doubles draw Wednesday at the ITA All-American Championship, one of three national championship events contested in college tennis.
Corovic and Milic opened the day with an 8-4 win over UCLA's Stephanie Wetmore and Maya Johansson in the quarterfinals. Needing one more win to reach the main doubles draw, the duo suffered an 8-6 defeat to Notre Dame's Kelcy Tefft and Kali Krisik.
Texas returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships in Fort Worth.
