AUSTIN, Texas -- CollegeSwimming.com has selected Texas sophomore Kathleen Hersey as its NCAA Division I Women's Swimmer of the Week after the Beijing Olympian won four individual events and registered multiple NCAA provisional-qualifying marks in the Longhorns' recent wins over Indiana and Michigan.

Hersey (Roswell, Ga.) captured the 200-yard IM (1:59.79), the 400 IM (4:14.40), the 100 butterfly (53.97) and the 200 butterfly (1:56.98) and posted NCAA "B" cuts in each of those events while helping Texas to a 222-162 win over Indiana and a 235-149 victory over Michigan on Oct. 31.

Hersey also swam on all five relays in the two-day meet.  She helped UT to victory in all five relays and helped register NCAA "B" cuts in three of the relays.  This marks the five-time All-American's fourth career selection as the NCAA Division I Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Hersey and the Horns host their lone dual meet of the month on Friday, Nov. 6 when they host Texas A&M in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown.  The meet gets underway at 6 p.m. Central at UT's Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
