Women's Swimming and Diving preview: Nebraska, Big 12 Relays
What: Under first-year head coach Kim Brackin, Texas kicks off the 2006-07 season with a dual meet against Nebraska followed by the Big 12 Relays. Where: Devaney Center Natatorium, Lincoln, Neb. When: The Texas-Nebraska dual meet is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. CDT. The Big 12 Relays are slated for Friday, Oct. 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m. CDT. The afternoon session begins at 1 p.m. Last UT-NU meeting: Texas defeated Nebraska by a 182-60 margin on Oct. 10, 2002 in Lincoln. Last Big 12 Relays appearance: Texas captured the 2005 Big 12 Relays in Columbia, Mo. The Longhorns edged Texas A&M, 108-99. Missouri took third place, while Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa State placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. About Texas: UT returns eight All-Americans from the 2006 squad that placed eighth at the NCAA Championships. The eight All-America returnees for Texas are seniors Stephanie Anderson (Scottsdale, Ariz.); Leah Avilla (Livermore, Calif.); Connie Brown (Andover, Mass.); Elaine Ferritto (Columbus, Ohio); Katie Robinson (Dillsboro, Ind.) and Elizabeth Tinnon (Bowling Green, Ky.); junior diver Jessica Livingston (Houston, Texas) and sophomore Hee-Jin Chang (Seoul, Korea).
