Women's Swimming wraps up day one at USA National Championships
IRVINE, Calif. -- University of Texas senior Katie Robinson (Dillsboro, Ind.) led a productive day for Longhorn swimmers Tuesday in the opening day of the 2006 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships. Robinson took fifth in the 100-meter butterfly "B" final with a time of 1:00.81 after placing 16th in the preliminary round at 1:00.99. Senior Elaine Ferritto (Columbus, Ohio) and sophomore Alison Soelter joined Robinson to represent Texas on day one, as the duo competed in the 200-meter individual medley. Ferritto placed 37th in 2:19.98, while Soelter placed 62nd in 2:22.52. Day two of the ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships begins Wednesday at noon CDT.
