Women's Swimming signee Riefenstahl reaches 200 free semifinals at U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials

OMAHA, Neb. -- University of Texas women's swimming signee Katie Riefenstahl advanced to the semifinals of the 200-meter freestyle during the day three preliminary session Tuesday at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials-Swimming at Qwest Center Omaha.

Riefenstahl (Blue Bell, Pa.), who will compete in this evening's 100 backstroke finals, reached the 200-meter freestyle semifinals by placing 12th in 1:59.85. Incoming freshman Leah Gingrich took 35th in 2:01.63, and Texas-Ex Tanica Jamison placed 37th in 2:01.73.

Incoming freshman Kathleen Hersey added a 21st-place showing in the 200 individual medley in 2:16.31.

The USA network will air live semifinals and finals coverage of day three at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials-Swimming on Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m. Central.
