Bispo named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

AUSTIN, Texas -- Members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have selected Texas women's swimming and diving sophomore Karlee Bispo to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team in the women's at-large university division. Bispo (Modesto, Calif.), a chemistry major, earns her first selection to the team in her initial season of eligibility for the honor. The women's at-large division features student-athletes competing in swimming and diving, tennis, golf, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo. The district six university division includes NCAA Division I schools in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi and Arkansas. As a first-team all-district selection, Bispo advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. A first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection, Bispo earned four honorable mention All-America honors at the 2010 NCAA Championships. She is an eight-time Big 12 Conference champion. To be nominated for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve on their respective teams with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must reach sophomore athletic and academic standings at their current institution to be eligible.
