Women's Diving sweeps Big 12 awards
IRVING, Texas -- The University of Texas women's diving program swept the Big 12 Conference postseason women's diving awards, as announced by the league Thursday. UT junior Jessica Livingston (The Woodlands, Texas), was selected as the league's Women's Diver of the Year. Livingston, the 2007 Big 12 platform champion, went on to capture the same event at the 2007 NCAA Championships last month at the University of Minnesota, where she competed as a freshman. Livingston also is the 2006 U.S. National Champion in the platform event. Texas diving coach Matt Scoggin was selected as the league's Women's Diving Coach of the Year. Scoggin's UT women's divers dominated the Big 12 Conference Championship, as Livingston took the platform event, and junior Mary Yarrison (Springfield, Va.) took the one- and three-meter events.
