Women's Diving preview: NCAA Zone D Diving
WHAT: The NCAA Zone "D" Diving Meet is one of five regional-diving meets scheduled this weekend to determine the diving qualifiers for the upcoming NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The other meets will be held at Rutgers University, the University of Georgia and the University of Michigan; the U.S. Air Force Academy will also host a zone diving meet in Oklahoma City, Okla. WHEN: Friday, March 2-Sunday, March 4 Meet Schedule Saturday, March 3 Sunday, March 4 WHERE: Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center - Austin, Texas TICKETS: Admission is free. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Below is the rank of criteria utilized to determine the qualifiers for the NCAA Championships; the criteria are utilized until seven men and seven women are selected. For example, in accordance to the listing below, if diver A wins the one-meter, three-meter and platform events, only one bid is taken by that diver, and six bids still remain available. If three divers win the platform, one-meter and three-meter events, three bids are awarded and four remain. Bids are not subtracted from a zone if one diver wins two or more events; the progression down the list of criteria continues until seven male divers and seven female divers are selected. 1.
