IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday the selections of Texas junior swimmer Lily Moldenhauer as the league’s Women’s Swimmer of the Week and redshirt junior diver Maren Taylor as the league’s Women’s Diver of the Week.
Moldenhauer (San Antonio, Texas) helped Texas defeat No. 5 Arizona and SMU (Feb. 1) by way of season-best performances in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly. Moldenhauer clocked 53.04 seconds in the 100 backstroke and 54.04 in the 100 butterfly. She added a winning mark of 55.52 to win the 100 backstroke a week earlier in UT’s win at TCU. This marks Moldenhauer’s first career selection as the Big 12 Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
Taylor swept all three boards in UT’s victories over Arizona and SMU. Taylor totaled 364.30 points to win the three-meter event and posted marks of 297.05 in the one-meter event and 287.55 in the platform event. This marks Taylor’s seventh career selection as the Big 12 Women’s Diver of the Week and her fourth selection this season.
Texas hosts the Big 12 Championships beginning Wednesday, Feb. 27 at UT’s Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
