Women's Swimming and Diving behind after day one of duals with Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The University of Texas men's and women's swimming and diving teams are behind in the score after the first day of duals with Arizona. The Longhorn men and women have identical scores of 71 points, but the Wildcat men ended Friday with 115 points and the women totaled 113 points on the first day in Tucson, Ariz.

For the men, Kelley Wade took first place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 3:55.70 and Matthew Lowe took control of the 200-yard breaststroke with a finish of 2:01.41.

Rookie Michael Klueh won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:27.66.

For the women, Elizabeth Wycliffe took first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a NCAA consideration qualifying time of 1:59.08.

Katie Robinson closed out the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.52.

Jessica Livingston took second in the women's 3-meter diving competition with a score of 277.28, while Kathryn Kelly took second in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 270.75.

Both UT squads will look to take control Saturday with swimming beginning at 11 a.m. (MST) at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson.
