Taylor takes second in one-meter event at Phill Hansel Invite

HOUSTON - Texas redshirt junior diver Maren Taylor registered her second consecutive top-two finish Friday on day two of the Phill Hansel Invitational at The University of Houston. Taylor led the Texas diving contingent by taking second in the one-meter event with 287.80 points. Taylor totaled a meet-best 53.30 points on her final dive, a one-and-a-half somersault with two twists. LSU's Alexandra Bettridge won the contest with 305.20 points. UT freshman Meghan Houston added a seventh-place finish with 274.15 points. Senior Diana Wilcox placed 14th in the preliminary round with 247.45 points. Senior Samantha Holland took 24th place with 232.55 points, and freshman Kristina Hoffmann placed 34th with 215.30 points.
The Texas divers will wrap up the Phill Hansel Invitational on Saturday with the platform diving event.
