Cullinan qualifies for NCAA Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Junior Shelby Cullinan earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships with her seventh place finish in the 3-meter competition on Friday at the NCAA Zone D Diving Meet in Iowa City, Iowa.
Cullinan scored 603.45 points for her seventh place finish. She had the fourth highest score in the prelims. Three of her six dives in the finals scored over 50 points with the top dive an inward 2 1/2 somersault tuck that resulted in 56.7 points.
Diana Wilcox finished right behind Cullinan in eighth place. She had 591.9 points overall and closed out her day with a pair of 50-point dives. Her top score in the finals was a 54.6 on her back 2 1/2 somersault tuck.
Samantha Holland also competed in the prelims but did not make the championship rounds. She tallied 264.65 points on her six dives.
The meet will end Saturday with the platform competition.
