Students invited to tryout for Softball; managers needed for 2012-13 season

All full-time Texas female students are invited to participate in tryouts to walk on to the 2012-13 Texas Softball team. You must be cleared through the Athletic Department before you can tryout, by completing a walk-on packet, which can be picked up in the Red McCombs Red Zone (north end of the football stadium) Room 5.500D. All paperwork must be returned by or on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Tryouts will start at 3 p.m. at Red and Charline McCombs Field (on Comal between Manor Road and M.L.K. Blvd.). For more information on the tryouts or in case of rain on scheduled day, please call Dreya Johannsen at 232-3410. Also, male and female students who wish to be a manager for the Softball team are invited to email their resume to Dreya Johannasen at Dreya.Johannsen@athletics.utexas.edu. Managers will be trained on video taping and using the Inside Edge and Dartfish Video System programs, along with active participation in practices, on-field set up for practices and games and possible travel with the team during the regular season. Managers will be paid $7.26 per hour and receive a letter award.
