Texas is making its 13th NCAA Softball Tournament appearance (eighth consecutive appearance). Texas boasts a 33-24 (.579) record in NCAA Tournament play. The Longhorns are hosting a regional for the sixth time in the program's history. It is the third straight year that Texas has hosted an NCAA regional in softball. NCAA REGIONAL INFORMATION...Longhorn Network will televise all games during the regional that involves Texas. Every game of the regional, along with video for any games not involving Texas, will feature an audio stream for free on TexasSports.com. Fans are encouraged to go online at TexasSports.com on the softball page for parking and ticket information. LONGHORNS AGAINST THE FIELD...Texas is 1-1 all-time against Northwestern with the last meeting taking place on Feb. 23, 2008, in Cathedral City, Calif., with Northwestern winning by a 5-4 score. Texas is 16-4 all-time against Houston with the Longhorns recording a 15-4 win in five innings on March 28 in Houston. The Cougars defeated the Longhorns, 1-0, at last year's NCAA Regional at McCombs Field. Texas and Auburn would be meeting for the first time ever in softball if they play against each other this weekend. NATIONAL LEADERS... As of May 14, Texas is sixth in the nation for batting average (.335), ninth in scoring (6.38 runs per game), ninth in slugging percentage (.532) and 29th in home runs (1.12 per game). Lexy Bennett is second in the nation in sacrifice flies (five) and 29th for RBI (1.0 per game). Blaire Luna is third in the nation for strikeouts per seven innings (10.2 per game). Taylor Hoagland is 21st nationally for runs scored per game (1.02 per game) and 26th for home runs (16). Brejae Washington is 32nd for stolen bases (0.50 per game).
