AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Softball team has been awarded the No. 6 national seed for the 2012 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament and will host the NCAA Regional this Friday-Sunday (May 18-20) at Red & Charline McCombs Field. Auburn (33-21) plays Houston (34-22) on Friday at 1 p.m. while the Longhorns (42-10) will play Northwestern (27-27) at 4 p.m. The winner of the Austin Regional will face the winner of the Eugene (Ore.) Regional in NCAA Super Regional to play for the right to advance to the 2012 Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla.
