Tresselt named to CoSIDA Academic All-District softball team

AUSTIN, Texas - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have named Texas junior righthander Erin Tresselt to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 Second Team. The honor is the first career all-district honor for Tresselt and marks the second straight year Texas has landed at least one student-athlete on the team.
Tresselt, a crafty and methodical righthander carries a 3.53 GPA in finance/pre-med and has made 21 appearances in the circle for the Longhorns this season. She has posted a 5-2 mark on the year with two saves in 59 innings of work. The Missouri City, Texas, native headlines the UT staff with a 2.37 ERA in 2009 and has tied the UT all-time saves record with six career saves.
The junior hurler owns a 2-0 record in Big 12 play, including a win in relief against then-No. 6 Oklahoma. She was named Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2008 and is a three-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection. In 2009, Tresselt received the UT Athletics Coca Cola Solid Citizen award for her work in the community.
Tresselt and her Texas teammates return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 when they take on fifth-seeded Nebraska at the Big 12 Coanference Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla.
