Carpenter named All-America, four Longhorns named NSCAA Scholar All-South Region
AUSTIN, Texas -- Junior Kelsey Carpenter (Allen, Texas) became the first Texas soccer player to earn National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) First-Team Scholar All-America honors, announced this week by the national governing body of high school and college soccer coaches.
Seniors Amy Burlingham (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Priscilla Fite (Irving, Texas) joined Carpenter on the NSCAA All-South Region list, as they were selected to the third team. Junior Leslie Imber (Houston, Texas) became the first UT soccer player to earn honorable mention regional honors.
Prior to this year, only three Texas soccer players have made the prestigious All-American list: Burlingham (2005 second team), Kelly McDonald (2004 third team), and Kelly Wilson (2005 second team).
