AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore goalkeeper Alexa Gaul has been called up to the U.S. U-23 Women's National Training camp held at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles. Gaul is one of 24 players nationally who will take part in the team's final training camp of the year from Dec. 12 to Dec. 19.

The players, led by U.S. head coach Bill Irwin, include some of the top collegiate players in the nation as well as nine players that competed in the Women's Professional Soccer League last season. Gaul has seen action with the U-23 team before, including its summer competition at the Four Nations Tournament in England where the U.S. took home the team title. Gaul saw action in all three games and posted two shutouts.

With the Longhorns this past season, Gaul was named to the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy watch list and went on to post eight shutouts over the course of the season. She led the Big 12 in league action in in goals allowed (seven), goals against average (0.65), save percentage (.868) and was fourth in saves (46).
