The University of Texas will not renew the contract of women's soccer head coach Chris Petrucelli, UT Athletics announced Saturday morning. Coach Petrucelli will be reassigned in the department, and a search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

Statement from Women’s Athletics Director Chris Plonsky
"I hold Chris and his staff in high regard. Our goal here is to consistently compete on an elite level -- meaning conference and national championships. Recently, we haven’t had the consistency and performance in order to achieve this goal. I thank Chris and his staff for their dedication and hard work. They are exemplary people and a credit to their profession."
