Six from Soccer named Academic All-District
AUSTIN, Texas -- Six Longhorns were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2007 Women's Soccer Team, announced on Monday, Nov. 1. National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-American and Texas senior forward Kelsey Carpenter (Allen, Texas), and junior defenders Stephanie Logterman (Austin, Texas) and Jill Gilbeau (San Diego, Texas) were selected to the district six first-team and are now eligible for All-America status. Carpenter and Logterman are repeat selections as each made the second-team in 2006. Gilbeau is a first-time honoree. Three other Longhorns made the second- and third-team lists. Austin native and sophomore forward Emily Anderson earned a spot on the second-team. Junior goalkeeper Dianna Pfenninger (Sugar Land, Texas) and senior tri-captain Greta Carter (Arlington, Texas) garnered third-team honors. The Longhorns return to the soccer pitch at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 2 for its final game of the 2007 regular season. Texas hosts 2006 Big 12 Tournament finalist Colorado at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
