Anderson and Campanelli named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams

AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior defender Emily Anderson and junior defender Erica Campanelli were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 Women's Soccer Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Friday. Anderson landed her second-straight First Team honor and third selection overall after being a Second Team pick in 2007. The senior from Austin, Texas, currently holds a 4.0 GPA in the Accounting/MPA program in the McCombs School of Business and is one of three Longhorns in program history to earn ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors after being named to the Second Team last year.
To be nominated for all-district consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for her career. No athlete is eligible until he has reached sophomore athletic and academic standing. Texas starts its postseason in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championship on Wed., Nov. 4 at 2 p.m.
