Three Longhorns earn Big 12 Soccer honors
AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior goalkeeper Dianna Pfenninger was named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, while senior defender Kasey Moore earned co-Offensive Player of the Week and freshman midfielder Lucy Keith was named co-Newcomer of the Week. Moore shared the award with Yolanda Odenyo (Oklahoma State) while Keith shared her honor with Beth West (Texas A&M). Moore earned her fourth career league award after scoring one goal in each of UT's wins at No. 20 Missouri and Kansas. The two-time All-American scored the gamewinner in the 21st minute to give UT a 1-0 victory over the Jayhawks. Down 1-0 at Mizzou, the senior struck the ball from 18 yards out for the equalizer in the 76th minute. Pfenninger collected her second league award of the season and fourth overall after combining for 13 saves against KU and MU. She posted her program-best fourth consecutive shutout with three stops against the Jayhawks. At Mizzou, the senior tied her season best with 10 saves to preserve a 2-1 win. Keith earned three points in the Longhorns' 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Missouri. The freshman midfielder provided the game-tying assist to Moore in the 76th minute then struck again seven minutes later for the second game-winning goal of her career. The award is Keith's first career honor. The No. 8 Longhorns conclude the regular season at home on Friday as they host Baylor. First kick of senior night is set for 7 p.m. Central at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
