Oct. 27, 2012
IRVINE, Texas - After wrapping up the regular season Friday evening, Texas has earned the No. 4 seed for the Big 12 Championship, held at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio. The Longhorns (7-10-1, 4-4-0 Big 12) face No. 5 seed Oklahoma (7-8-4, 3-3-2 Big 12) in the quarterfinals at 11:30 a.m. Central Wednesday.
Should UT down the Sooners, it would face the winner of the West Virginia and TCU match Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The league title contest is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.
Texas is the only current member of the Big 12 to play in the league's postseason tournament each year since the event began in 1996. The Longhorns also join Oklahoma State as the only two active members to have claimed a Big 12 Championship title.
This year, the quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be streamed live by the Big 12 Digital Network on Big12Sports.com while the final will be televised live by FOX Sports Network.
