TopDrawerSoccer.com Midseason Top 20 Conference Teams AUSTIN, Texas - After totaling a combined 19 points through 12 matches, Texas Soccer seniors Kristin Cummins and Hannah Higgins have been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Midseason Big 12 Top 20 Team, according to an announcement by the publication Tuesday morning. Cummins paces the Longhorns with 11 points and is tied for the squad lead in goals with four and game-winning tallies with two. The Lewisville, Texas, native was named to the Aug. 20 TopDrawerSoccer.com and Aug. 23 Soccer America Team of the Week after opening the campaign with two goals, including the winner, and an assist against Dayton in helping UT to a 3-2 overtime victory. She added her second contest-deciding score against Toledo and has five in her career, tied for the 10th most in program history. Also a facilitator on offense this season, Cummins' three assists are one more than her career total entering the year. Higgins leads Texas, and ranks fifth in the Big 12, with four assists. The four helpers have given the Flower Mound, Texas, product 13 in her career, tied for 10th on the UT all-time list. She also has the third most assist among all active Big 12 players, trailing only Kansas' Whitney Berry (31) and Oklahoma State's Megan Marchesano (16). Higgins' contributions offensively have not been limited to assists as she tallied the game-winning goal against Fresno State and recorded another goal versus Denver, scoring in consecutive matches for the first time in her career. Texas (5-6-1, 2-0-0 Big 12) returns to action Friday at 7 p.m., hosting No. 17 Oklahoma State (10-3-1, 1-2-1 Big 12) for this year's Kick for a Cure event.
