About the Series
Texas owns an 8-5-2 winning record over Baylor. Against the Bears, Texas holds a 4-2-0 advantage when playing at BU, including a two-match Waco winning streak that it will bring into Sunday's match.
UT in Big 12 Conference Play
The Longhorns boast a Big 12 record of 68-24-9 (.717) since Petrucelli arrived on campus in 1999 and have finished in the top three in seven of those 10 years. With their win at OU, the Horns are now 6-4-1 including a 3-3-0 mark when playing their first league match on the road.
Underclassmen playing like veterans
UT's freshmen and sophomores have made an immediate impact for the Horns through six games this season. 10 of UT's 12 goals have come from the underclassmen while the group also accounts for 65 of Texas' 88 starting positions (.738) over the first nine matches. Seven of UT's 11 starting jobs are also taken by sophomores or freshmen.
Spreading the Offense Around
Nine different Longhorns account for the Longhorns 12 goals this season. Of that group, seven are underclassmen (three freshmen, four sophomores), two have been from players off the bench, two from the midfield and one from the defense.
Don't doubt Doniak
Sophomore midfielder Kylie Doniak has proved to be one of the Horns' top offensive players this season as she has totalled a team-leading three goals. Doniak found the back of the net against Houston (8/28), Kentucky (9/13) and OU (9/25). Her three goals this season are also a career high.
Goodson Brings in the Goals
With her two goals against California (Sept. 6), sophomore Courtney Goodson recorded the second multi-goal game of her career. With two multi-goal matches under her belt, Goodson becomes one of 15 athletes in program history to record more than one 2+ goal match in a career. She is also the first to accomplish the feat since she did it a year ago against Arizona (Sept. 17, 2008).
Last time out at Oklahoma (Sept. 25)
The Longhorns opened Big 12 play with a 2-1 victory at Oklahoma, Sept. 25. Texas earned goals from sophomore Kylie Doniak (21st min.) and freshman Hannah Higgins (57th min.). Texas opened Big 12 play with a win for the fourth-straight year
