TOKYO, Japan - University of Texas freshman goalkeeper Abby Smith and the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team captured a 2-0 victory over Nigeria in the semifinals of the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup on Tuesday afternoon inside Tokyo National Stadium. Morgan Brian scored in the 22nd minute and Kealia Ohai added the insurance in the 70th as the Americans advanced to their third appearance in the title game.

The USA has won the tournament twice, defeating Canada to earn the 2002 crown when it was a U-19 event, and most recently downing Korea DPR 2-1 in the 2008 U-20 Women's World Cup. Smith has yet to enter into a contest as U.S. goalkeeper Bryane Heaberlin played her fifth-straight complete match Tuesday.

The Sept. 8 final will be a rematch for the Americans, as they take on Germany, the defending champion and 3-0 winner over Japan in the other semifinal match Tuesday. A week ago during the group stage of the tournament, the USA fell to Germany 3-0.

The title match will start at 5:20 a.m. Central and be televised live by ESPNU and streamed on ESPN3.
