Follow the Horns on Twitter and Facebook SMU (2-1-0) vs. New Mexico (0-3-1) AUSTIN, Texas - After earning its initial shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over Toledo on Sunday afternoon, the Texas Soccer program returns to action Friday with the first day of the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational. The Longhorns (2-2-0) host No. 10 Virginia (3-1-0) at 7:30 p.m. Prior to that match, SMU (2-1-0) and New Mexico (0-3-1) square off at 5 p.m. The Longhorns will play their first match of the season against a ranked opponent Friday evening as the Cavaliers check in 10th in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire poll. After opening the season with a 3-1 loss to Penn State, Virginia has recorded three-straight shutouts. The Cavaliers bring an experienced team to Austin as seven starters and 20 letterwinners return from last year's squad. Sunday, the tournament concludes with Virginia against SMU at 11 a.m. and New Mexico taking on Texas at 1:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to take advantage of UT Athletics' Labor Day Weekend All-Session package, including general admission tickets to all four matches of the tournament for only $5.
