* Texas posted an unblemished 2-0 record during its 2005 preseason exhibition schedule by capturing road wins over Wake Forest (2-1 on Aug. 19) and UNC-Greensboro (1-0 on Aug. 21). While sophomore Kelsey Carpenter accounted for the two scores against the Demon Deacons, freshman Erin Davis netted the game-winner versus the Spartans.
* Of the 18 opponents on UT's 2005 regular-season schedule, four (Texas A&M, Portland, Nebraska and Kansas) are currently ranked among the NSCAA's Preseason Top 25 and 10 qualified for the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
* In 2005, UT head coach Chris Petrucelli returns 11 letterwinners, including five starters, from a 2004 squad that went 15-7-2 overall, 6-3-1 in Big 12 play and reached the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
