Cummins nets another award, named to Soccer America Team of the Week

Soccer America Team of the Week AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Kristin Cummins continued her award-winning week on Thursday by earning a place on the Soccer America Team of the Week, according to an announcement by the publication. On Monday, Cummins was selected for the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week. Last Friday in the season opener against Dayton, Cummins tied the contest at one with a goal at 10:28. She then assisted on freshman Sydney Shutter's initial career score, which put the Longhorns up 2-1 at 80:38. After Dayton sent the match into overtime, Cummins ended the contest with a goal at 98:50. The two-goal performance gave Cummins two multiple-goal contests in her career. She became just the 16th Longhorn in program history to accomplish the feat. The Lewisville, Texas, product is tied for the Big 12 in points (five), goals (two) and game-winning goals (one) while tying for second in assists (one), points per game (2.50) and goals per game (1.00). Texas resumes action Friday with an 8 p.m. Central contest against N.C. State. The match will be aired live on Longhorn Network.
