Texas returns two of its top three scorers from last season, including senior Kylie Doniak who led the team with seven goals, nine assists and 23 points. Junior Kristin Cummins ranked second in goals (five) and third in points (11) in 2010.

The Longhorns return two All-Big 12 performers and two Big 12 All-Newcomer selections from last season. Kylie Doniak was named a second-team midfielder and Alexa Gaul was tabbed a second-team goalkeeper in 2010. Defender Nina Frausing Pedersen and midfielder Lexi Harris were named as two of the league’s top 11 newcomers last season.

Three transfers bolster the Longhorns roster, including Taylor Knaack (Notre Dame), Vanessa Ibewuike (Purdue) and Taylor Johnson (Navarro College). Knaack, who has one year of eligibility remaining, registered six goals, five assists and 17 points as a sophomore in 2009 and five goals, two assists and 12 points as a freshman in 2008. Ibewuike, who has three years of eligibility remaining, was a member of the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2009, registering three goals, five assists and 11 points. Johnson, who also has three years of eligibility, tallied 12 goals, five assists and 29 points for Navarro in 2010.

In 2010, Texas posted an 11-6-4 record and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in the last 10 years. Last season, TCU went 7-10-2, including 1-5-1 in the Mountain West Conference. The teams have met seven times in regular-season action with Texas owning a 6-1 advantage, but TCU won the last meeting, 2-1 in 2009.

The Longhorns play another exhibition game on Sunday, Aug. 14 at Florida State before opening the regular season with a home match against Loyola Marymount on Friday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. Central.
