Off-season drills: Jill Gilbeau
Each week TexasSports.com will catch up with a different player to get their perspectives about soccer and the off-season, as well as some interesting facts about themselves. This week's player is freshman defender/midfielder Jill Gilbeau. Jill has enjoyed getting acquainted with all UT has to offer during her freshman year, and also understands the importance of perfecting her game in the off-season. What is your favorite part of the off-season? "My favorite part of the off-season is that we get to work on individual skills. I think it will be very helpful for me that I've had this time to focus on improving when we begin the regular season." What's your favorite thing to do in Austin? "I really enjoy just spending time hanging out with my friends and meeting new people, especially since UT is so big." What's your favorite thing about going to school at UT? "I definitely like all the options that UT has to offer when it comes to organizations and ways to get involved in the community. No matter what you want to do, there's going to be a way to accomplish it or an organization dedicated to it already." What's the craziest thing you have ever done? "I don't think I've ever done anything that crazy, and I'm not really sure if I would bungee jump or parachute if given the chance to try an extreme sport. However, I did live in Guam when I was younger, which some might find different and interesting."
